Nick Karnavasworked in the Plastics Industry since graduation,first in Baltimore in plastic extrusion,then moving to Pittsburgh in 1994 to work in the resin Manufacturing Industry. In 1996, NZK Plastics, LLC was started on a part time basis by president and owner Nick Karnavas. In 2001 he directed all his energies full time to his growing Injection Molding business.
NZK Plastics LLC began with one injection molding machine and has grown to include 7 molding machines with clamp tonnages ranging from 50 tons to 400 tons. Secondary operations include sonic welding, solvent welding, heat staking, and assembly work. Engineering services include part design and material selection and drawing is done in 3D with Solidworks software.
Today, NZK Plastics, LLC generates sales of under a million dollars and uses this small size to react quickly to customer demands and needs. Our "customer first" attitude enables us to be responsive to customers needs in a way that is often lacking in larger organizations.

NZK Plastics LLC works with all the major commodity resins such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene(PP), polystyrene(PS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS), polycarbonate(PC) and acetal, also include high-end engineering resins such as liquid crystal polymer(LCP), polyphenylene sulfide(PPS), and cyclo-olefin polymer(COP) for optical lens applications. Additionally, Insert molding can be done with wear resistant acetal and nylon materials and thermoplastic elastomers(TPE’s) have also been overmolded for many ergonomic designed parts.
